METROPOLITAN POLICE

CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION DEPARTMENT

21st day of July 1911

I beg to report that at 4.50 pm, this day, Mr C. J. Thompson of Messrs Harvey & Thompson Limited, 21 New Oxford Street, W, called to inform Police that Dr Crippen called on 14th August 1909 and selected two single stone diamond rings to be sent to his office on approbation.

The rings were taken to Albion House, New Oxford Street by caller's assistant Stanley F. Coleman where he saw a young lady supposes Miss Le Neve, who fitted the rings and subsequently selected one priced at 50/-.

Doctor Crippen paid a deposit of £1 at the time he selected this ring and he paid the balance of 30/- by cheque which was paid into caller's account at the London and County and Westminster Bank, New Oxford St Branch on the 16th August 1909.

Caller thought that we ought to be acquainted with this information for what it is worth,

Sergeant
